Print layouts at exact sizes, handed over as PDF.
Print designers can lay out business cards, flyers and brochure panels in Wonderblok at exact frame sizes, keep colors and fonts consistent as tokens, and use an AI agent for variations and copy fitting. Export PDF or SVG for the printer, after confirming the printer's requirements.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Sound familiar?
Print work is about precision: sizes that match a template, type that fits, colors that stay consistent across a card, a flyer and a folder. It is also repetitive: ten staff cards with different names, a flyer in three languages.
Wonderblok gives you exact frames, tokens for the brand and an agent for the repetitive parts. Generate the ten name variations from a table of names, check that every line fits, and export.
Ten near-identical files
Staff cards and regional flyers differ by a few words.
Text that overflows
Long names and translations break fixed layouts.
Inconsistent brand colors
Values are typed by hand across files.
AN EXAMPLE WEEK
Twelve staff cards, a three-language flyer and one printer, in a week
A scenario, not a customer story: what a week can look like when your agent works on the canvas with you.
Monday
Start with the printer's sheet
A regional company wants cards for twelve people, a flyer and a brochure. Before you draw anything you ask the printer for the finished size, the bleed, the color profile and the file type they accept. You write the answers into the file's guidelines. Wonderblok does not do bleed, CMYK or color profiles, so you also note which step will happen in your prepress tool.
Tuesday
One card, laid out properly
You connect Claude Code and make a frame at 90 by 55 mm. The company's two colors and its typefaces become tokens. You ask for three layout directions, pick one, and move a few things by hand until the logo and the lines of text sit where you want them.
Wednesday
Twelve names in one pass
You paste a table of names, job titles and phone numbers. The agent makes a card for each person from the master and lists the three cards where a job title wraps to two lines. You shorten one title with the client's approval and let the other two wrap.
Thursday
The flyer, in three languages
The flyer is drawn once with the same tokens. The agent produces an Indonesian and a Japanese version and flags the lines that no longer fit. A colleague who reads both languages checks the wording. You adjust the type size on two lines and keep the layout.
Friday
Brochure panels and a final check
You lay out three panels at 99 by 210 mm and let the agent place placeholder copy to test the rhythm. You leave notes on two panels, the agent applies them, and you read the change history before you accept. Then you compare every frame with the printer's sheet from Monday.
Next Tuesday
A correction arrives
The client changes a phone number on four cards. You ask the agent to change the text and list the cards it touched. You export only those four again. The printer's prepress step happens in the tool the printer expects, and the card files you send are the ones that changed.
BEFORE AND AFTER
What changes once your agent has a canvas.
WITHOUT A DESIGN FILE
- Ten staff cards are ten copies of one file, edited by hand, and one of them has last year's phone number.
- A long name or a translated line overflows and you only see it on the proof.
- Brand colors are typed into each file, and two of them are a shade off.
- The printer's requirements live in an email you scroll back to find.
- A late correction means opening, editing and exporting every file again.
WITH WONDERBLOK
- One master card and a list of names. The agent makes the rest in the same file.
- You get a list of every card where a line wraps or does not fit, before the proof.
- Colors and fonts are tokens, so every piece uses the same values.
- The printer's requirements sit in the guidelines, and the agent reads them before it edits.
- A correction reaches the whole set at once, and you export only what changed.
HOW IT WORKS
Print designers: the workflow, step by step.
Each step shows what you ask for, what you get, and the features behind it.
- 01
Ask the printer first
Wonderblok is a design tool for single pieces. It does not do bleed, CMYK or color profiles, and it is not a multi-page publishing tool. So start by asking the printer for the finished size, bleed, color profile and file type, and decide whether PNG, SVG or PDF from Wonderblok is the right input. Write the answers into the guidelines so the agent reads them before every edit.
GuidelinesRead-before-editYOU SAY
Add these printer requirements to the design guidelines: cards are 90 by 55 mm, text must stay inside a 4 mm margin, and the printer wants PDF files, one per card. Then read them back to me.
You get: A short sheet of requirements that the agent must read before it edits.
- 02
Connect your agent
Wonderblok sets up the MCP connection for Claude Code, Codex and Claude Desktop. The agent can list your files, read the tree and edit frames, text, components and tokens. The file stays on your device.
MCPLocal filesYou get: Your agent can see and change the design file.
- 03
Make the frame at the exact size
Create a frame at the size of the piece: a card, a flyer, a brochure panel. Several sizes can live in one file, so the card, the flyer and the panels of one job sit side by side. Auto layout keeps text blocks tidy when copy changes.
Frames and auto layoutExact frame sizesYOU SAY
Create a 90 by 55 mm frame called Card Master. Put the logo top left, the name and job title below it, and phone and email at the bottom, with auto layout so the lines stack.
You get: A master frame at the right size, laid out so text can change without a redraw.
- 04
Set the brand as tokens
Put the client's colors, typefaces and sizes into tokens. Every layer points at a token, not at a typed value. When the client changes a color, you change it once.
TokensFontsYOU SAY
Create color tokens from #1F3A2E and #F4EFE6, and type tokens for name, title and contact using Outfit. Replace every typed value on Card Master with these tokens.
You get: A brand that is one set of values, used the same way on every piece.
- 05
Generate the variations
Give the agent the list: names and titles for cards, regional copy for flyers, a language version of a leaflet. It builds one frame per row from the master and reports where text does not fit. You decide what to shorten, shrink or let wrap.
MCPSeveral sizes in one fileComponents and variantsYOU SAY
Make one card from Card Master for each of these twelve people, shrinking text only if a line would overflow. List every card where the job title wraps to two lines.
You get: Twelve frames side by side, and a list of the ones that need a decision.
- 06
Check, review, and keep control
Look at each frame at full size. Leave a note on a layer where something is off, and the agent applies it and tells you what it changed. The change history shows every edit since you last looked, and you can revert any of them.
NotesChange historyLintYOU SAY
Apply my notes on the flyer frames and tell me exactly what you changed. Then list any text that sits closer than 4 mm to the edge.
You get: Edits you reviewed, not edits you hope are right.
- 07
Export, then confirm with the printer
Export each piece as PDF, SVG or PNG. Then check the files against the printer's sheet from step one: size, margins, color profile, bleed. If the printer needs bleed or CMYK, do that last step in the prepress tool they expect. Wonderblok does not do it for you.
Export PNG, SVG, PDFYOU SAY
List every frame that is ready to export and any frame that still has an open note.
You get: Files for the printer, and a clear list of what is left to confirm.
USE CASES
Six jobs you can hand to your agent this week.
Business cards for a whole team
A company onboards twelve people and wants cards by Friday. The layout is the same and every name is different.
PROMPT Create a 90 by 55 mm business card layout and generate one for each of these twelve names, shrinking text only if a line would overflow.
Result: Twelve cards from one master, with a list of the ones where text needed a decision.
Exact frame sizesTokensMCPA flyer in three languages
One event, one flyer, three audiences. Translated lines run longer than the English ones.
PROMPT Make an Indonesian and a Japanese version of the flyer, keep the layout, and flag any line that no longer fits.
Result: Three flyers in one file and a list of lines that needed a smaller size. A native speaker should still read the wording.
Frames and auto layoutSeveral sizes in one fileBrochure panels
A tri-fold needs three panels that feel like one piece, with the same margins and type rhythm.
PROMPT Lay out a three-panel brochure at 99 by 210 mm per panel with the brand tokens and placeholder copy, with the same margins on each panel.
Result: Three panels side by side that you can review as a set. Wonderblok does not fold or impose pages, so folding order is something you confirm with the printer.
Exact frame sizesTokensLetterhead and stationery
The logo changes slightly and every stationery piece must follow.
PROMPT Lay out an A4 letterhead and a compliment slip with the new logo, using only the brand tokens.
Result: Stationery that uses the same logo and values as the cards and flyers.
Vector pathsTokensName badges for an event
A conference has two hundred attendees and a list from the registration sheet.
PROMPT Make a name badge frame and generate badges for the first twenty names from this list, then tell me which names wrap.
Result: A first batch to review, plus a list of names that need a different size. Batch size depends on your plan's MCP limit.
MCPSeveral sizes in one fileA correction across the whole set
The client changes a phone number and a job title after you sent the proof.
PROMPT Change the phone number on the cards for Dewi, Raka, Maya and Bimo, and list every frame you touched.
Result: Only the affected cards change, the change history shows what happened, and you export just those.

WHAT TO LOOK AT
The features that matter most to you.
Exact frame sizes
A card is 90 by 55 mm and a panel is 99 by 210 mm. You start from the real size of the piece.
MCP connection
Your agent does the repetitive part: one frame per name, one frame per language.
Tokens
Colors and fonts are values in one place, so the set cannot drift by a shade.
Guidelines the agent must read
The printer's requirements and your margins are read before every edit, not remembered by luck.
Frames with auto layout
Text blocks stack and reflow when a name gets longer or a line is translated.
Several sizes in one file
The card, the flyer and the panels of one job sit together and share the same brand.
Pen tool and vector paths
Logos, ornaments and rules stay editable and sharp at any size.
Notes, change history and revert
You see what the agent changed and can undo it, which matters when a file goes to print.
Export PNG, SVG and PDF
You hand the printer a file in a format they accept. Confirm their requirements first.
Files stay on your device
Client artwork stays in a .wonderblok file on your machine, and the printer only gets the exports you choose to send.
QUESTIONS
Straight answers.
Can I design business cards in Wonderblok?
Yes. Make a frame at the card size, lay out text and shapes, and export as PDF or SVG.
Can it make a card for each employee?
Your agent can generate a card per name from a list in the same file and tell you where text does not fit.
Does it handle bleed and CMYK?
Do not assume it. Confirm the printer's requirements for bleed and color profile, and check the export against them before you send files.
Which formats can I export?
PNG, SVG and PDF.
Does Wonderblok replace my layout or prepress tool?
No. It is a design tool for single pieces such as cards, flyers and panels. It is not a multi-page publishing tool and it does not do bleed, CMYK or color profiles. Use it for layout and variations, and finish prepress where your printer expects it.
Will the Free plan cover a real job?
Free includes 100 MCP calls a week. That is enough to try the workflow on a card and a flyer. A job with many variations will use more, which is what Pro and its much higher limit are for.
Can my printer or a colleague open the file?
Not today. A .wonderblok file lives on one device and Team workspaces are coming soon. You send the printer the exports, and you can share exports with colleagues for review.
